What is CallFire?

A lot of people have been asking me, point blank, "What is CallFire?".  It's a difficult question to answer because our services span a broad range of possibilities depending on the vertical.  Here's my best shot at answering this question:

CallFire is a powerful telephony tool that empowers average users (and software developers) to do above average things with VoIP Telephony.  CallFire is the backbone for many hosted predictive dialers and provides high-quality outbound IVR for some of America's most recognized institutions.

How some companies use CallFire:
*Government agencies use CallFire for Fire & Hurricane telephone warnings.
*CallFire is used to send Utility (Gas company) & Political telephone surveys.
*Hospitals use CallFire to find matching donors in minutes instead of days.
*High schools often record & send telephone updates to parents via CallFire.
*MLM organizations use CallFire to communicate with large teams.
*Marketing & IT companies resell our services to their clients.

CallFire facts:
*CallFire can send 1000's of interactive telephone calls simultaneously.
*Over 6000 people and/or companies have signed up for CallFire.
*CallFire has several API's available for Voice Broadcast, Virtual Call Center and standard Dialer campaigns.
*CallFire sends tens of millions of phone calls monthly.
*CallFire costs only pennies per call, with no minimums or commitments.

Lucky: The CallFire mascot

The office is never quiet when lucky's around.  He's an 11 month old Jack Russell and like others of his breed, has limitless energy and insatiable curiosity.  Here's a clip from this weekend, shot right after he had a bath.  :)

Dinesh Ravishanker’s first blog

Hello world... I read Mike Jone’s blog last Wednesday prior to meeting him at Userplane's offices in Santa Monica.  After doing so, I finally decided to create DET - effectively joining the Web2.0 blogging community.  :)  How could a 27 year old entrepreneur (possibly looking for funding) in the VoIP / Voice 2.0 space, NOT have a blog?

Soon I'll add entries about my personal motivations behind work, play & CallFire.  As CEO, I'll also be addressing CallFire.com's strategic initiatives for growth and attention to customer service.  I'll also try to blog about interesting people and experiences - including my recent meetings with Draper Fisher Jurvetson, Greycroft Partners, and Jake Weinbaum from Business 2.0.

Executive Summary for Dinesh's Blog:

  1. A place for me to put down entrepreneurial ideas and share them with the world.
  2. A place to ask questions, create debate and hopefully get some answers.
  3. A place to discuss Voice 2.0 business models & startups.
  4. A place to give kudos & vent. :)
